Monasterio Nuestra Senora De Los Angeles,
San Cugat, Spain.

Rising at 06.20.
Morning Sitting at 07.15.
Breakfast at 08.00.
Good comments on the Evening of Initiative: the success of the Mellow Circulating Group, which even whizzed without magic chords; the failure of the Loud And Organised Group; the non-actualisation of the Algorithm-Seeking Self-Organising Heuristics Group; and the completion meeting.
Director Nunez enjoyed a good night’s sleep, getting to bed around one in the morning: no-one had knocked on his door.
For our morning: House of Guitars at 09.45. The Master Kabusacki has told us there should be chairs placed in two Circles. It will be so.
Luciano has arrived, and is available for T’ai Chi at 12.30.
There are many personal meetings likely to arise, and the sign-up sheet is on the board.
10.47 House of Guitars at 09.45.
In the Inner Circle: 9 guitars; in the Outer, 21.
Orchestrina Of Crafty Guitarists: when ready, please begin: c. 22 minutes.
Orchestrina Of Crafty Guitarists: when ready, please begin again: c. 8 minutes.
Inner Circle of The Orchestrina Of Crafty Guiatrists: when ready, please begin: c. 5 minutes.
Orchestrina Of Crafty Guitarists: please play everything you know about the weather in one minute, following a count of 4. 1,2,3,4… One minute.
Then a photography announcement: Part of our work is that it goes outwards into the world, that it might be seen by someone looking.
Photographs were taken while Orchestrining was taking place. The photographer said: Play music if you like, or circulate, or not. It is of no concern to me.

Personal meetings begin at 11.00.
The Beginners are meeting with the Buddies in the Room Without Dancing at 11.15.
14.23 Five personal meetings and T’ai Chi with Luciano at 12.30.
Lunch at 13.00. Comments on our morning invited. These were all directed towards this morning’s Orchestrina. Generally, it was felt there is development from The House Of Guitars.
Two of the three audients presented their views on this, the second noting only what the photographer had said: It is of no concern to me. This had surprised them.
And a question: Why Orchestrina? Why not House of Guitars? (May we note, when someone would like to ask a question, the question is rarely singular). An Englishman presented a good answer, at some length. It came down to this: the former House Of Guitars/Guitarists had acquired an identity.
An identity is a quality and a quality, once recognized, can be named. Reference was made to naming rituals, including in Guitar Craft, baptism and Christening. The identity of The Orchestrina Of Crafty Guitarists had become apparent within the guitars/ guitarists present, its quality was recognized, and its name acknowledged.
Washing up duty.

18.08 Tea at 16.00.
Personal meetings from 16.30. Good concerns.
In from Curt… Reading the description of the morning exercise (shown at Raft Island this past 31st. October) in your diary, I was re-reminded of an image I had when you quoted Mr Bennett on the subject. From Alice in Wonderland:
20.37 Dinner at 19.00
A performance by a Buddies / Kitchen Team Sextet of Discipline. Superb.
The audient-commentator from lunchtime was asked to repeat her comment. Purportedly, Robert had said: Play music if you like, or circulate, or not. It is of no concern to me. This she found upsetting.
RF: Who said this?
AC: You did.
RF: No. Who said this?
John H: A man with camera.
RF: Yes. A photographer said this. To tell musicians that it doesn’t matter whether they play or not is a terrible thing to say. I’d never say that to my pals in The Orchestrina! But a photographer…
The person who had been speaking, with such a callous disregard for the players, was a photographer.
St. Mariana of the Cake served exquisite cheesecakes with large bowls of whipped cream. Life began again. Memories of photography faded, rapidly.
21.31 House Meeting with good comments, mainly directed towards The Orchestrina. Mrs. Moscow commented on how quiet the course has been. Luciano commented on how quietly chairs were removed from the Circle/s this morning. As with the walk-in at Fremont Abbey in Seattle, this was the high spot of the event.
Two hats were pulled from the pockets of Director Nunez, actually one cloth cap and one woolly cap; each contained nine names, those of the Beginners. A duet, soloist, trio and quartet were drawn from the woolly cap; then a quartet and quintet from the cloth cap. The Hats have spoken: the Beginners will present a performance for the House and guests tomorrow at 21.00, in the Room Without Dancing.
